Punter nails Paddy Power for €220k with €35 eight-part accumulator

What a bet
What a bet

A Cork punter has spanked bookie Paddy Power for almost €220k after an incredible eight-parter came in for the gambler last night.

The 6,277/1 shot was made up of five races across three different race meetings and three soccer matches across three different countries.

The giant punt began with back to back winners in the afternoon meeting at Lingfield.

A horse called Up Ten Down Two continued the roll with a win at Newcastle in last night's 5.45 and the unnamed gambler won the next race up at Newcastle too, taking the 6.15 with Nick Vedder.

Swish won the 7.00 at Dundalk and then the fate of the bet was with the footballing gods.

Luckily Dundalk won the HT/FT bet in the Louth derby against Drogheda, Derby beat QPR in the Championship and Aberdeen's hammering of Dundee in Scotland ensured that HT/FT bet was never in doubt.

The bet resulted in a win of €219,713.80 for a €35 bet.

Féilim Mac An Iomaire, a spokesperson for Paddy Power, said “It may have come a day early but it’s fair to say that this Corkman has made a fool out of the lot of us. Landing eight selections across three racing fixtures and three football matches is no small feat and we can only congratulate him on pulling our pants down.”
