Well done to Cavan town angler Kenneth O’Keeffe on winning the Kells Anglers Sheelin Classic on Saturday April 19th.

Kenneth boated a fine Lough Sheelin brown weighing 5.41lbs to take an array of prizes including a new 19ft Sheelin boat. Presentation took place in Crover House where Declan McCabe, main sponsor of Sheelin boats, presented prizes. Kells Anglers Association would like to thanks all who competed in the 2014 classic fly fishing competition and their many loyal sponsors.

There is another beautiful Sheelin boat up for grabs at the Lough Conn & Cullin Anglers Association 50th anniversary Whit weekend fly fishing competition. It will be fished from Gortnor Abbey Pier, Crossmolina. Prizes down the line to 12th place plus special Category prizes. More on this Orla Walsh 087-2144395.

On the pike scene Robert Storey of Co. Antrim won the Upper Erne Pike Classic and drifted away with a cool €1,500 for his 16lbs 12oz pike. This was a super pike competition with 90 anglers centered around Derryadd Boat Club near Lisnaskea, Co Fermanagh.
