Diarmuid gets his prize from Brian Nally of Annamoe trout fishery

Diarmaid Fleming of BBC World Service topped the media fly-fishing competition on Annamoe trout fishery last week.

It was a beautiful day and some top quality trout were banked.

Diarmaid who lives in Rush Co. Dublin was presented with his prize by Brian Nally of Annamoe trout fishery (pictured). Fancy a day on Annamoe? give Brian a shout on 086-2598563. www.annamoetroutfishery.com. Full pic Gallery from the Media comp on my site.

Speaking of Trout, Castleblaney angler Steve Donaghy, banked a huge trout while dead baiting for pike on Lough Muckno. Steve was dead baiting near the golf coarse section at Concra Wood when his roach dead bait was picked up by a huge ferox trout weighing an impressive 14lbs.

Plenty of interest in the Kells Anglers Lough Sheelin Classic open fly fishing competition. Closing date for entries is this Wed April 16th. Competition day Sat 19th April. Top prize for Heaviest Trout, a new 19ft Sheelin Boat and Trailer, plus many more prizes.
