American swimmer Ryan Lochte held at gunpoint in Rio
Rio 2016 chiefs are waiting for more details of an incident involving American swimmer Ryan Lochte.
The six-time Olympic gold medallist was held up at gunpoint while at a party in Rio.
Rio 2016 main spokesman Mario Andrada, asked about the incident during the daily International Olympic Committee press briefing in Rio, said: "We just had a quick report that there was an issue with him (Lochte) but we didn't have the detail that he was held at gunpoint.
"We are waiting for more information.
"We will give an update as soon as we have one from security and from USOC (United States Olympic Committee)."
A USOC spokesman said that it was not aware of an incident involving Lochte, who was part of the US team that won 4x200 metres gold in Rio, but had not yet been in touch with the swimmer.
