Alonso misses Australian F1 Grand Prix
Former F1 champion Fernando Alonso will miss the opening race of the 2015 Grand Prix season.
The McLaren-Honda driver suffered concussion in an accident during testing in Barcelona last month.
While the team insists that Alonso has fully recovered, in order to minimise the chance of second impact syndrome he will sit out the Australian Grand Prix on March 15.
The McLaren cars will be driven Alonso team-mate Jenson Button and the team’s test Kevin Magnussen.
The Spanish born driver won the F1 drivers' title in 2005 and 2006. In his final season with Ferrari in 2014 he finished sixth.
