THE ISLAND BOPPERS
Grimes twins: When we get rich we'll buy ourselves an island just like Louis...we'll call ours Planet Jedward and we'll turn it into a really cool place
IRELAND's wackiest twins are planning to splash their cash on an Irish island to create Planet Jedward.
The irrepressible John and Edward Grimes reveal that when they're rich they intend to follow their leader Louis Walsh who has an island home off the coast of Mayo.
"We might ask Louis can we have his island," John tells the Sunday World.
"I want to get one and call it 'Planet Jedward' and turn it into a really cool island."
But the siblings don't intend to become hermits out in a remote spot.
"I think we should also buy a street in Dublin and call it Jedward Street and have shops and move our family there," Edward suggests.
Their dreams won't become a reality for some time as the bubbly boys admit they're still not in the money.
"Everyone has this image of us that we have all this money, but we don't at the moment," John reveals.
"When we go shopping we always go to the sales section. I feel like we're the same guys we always were. We're just like every other
teenager - we still ask our mum for money to go to the shop."
In true Jedward fashion, their interview with this newspaper blurred the lines between reality and the bizarre as the likeable brothers chatted about girls, drugs, fame and Louis Walsh.
When the conversation moved on to the subject of girls, it turns completely comical. At times John and Edward talk as if they're one person.
Like when John tells me: "We don't need a girlfriend at the moment."
It's because they have so many girl fans. "Imagine how awkward it would be having a girlfriend right now," John explains.
Edward: "I can't go out with a girl without John approving her."
Baggage
Then he reflects on all the problems girlfriends might cause. "Imagine if she cheats on me with John, and what if John rejected a girl and then she came to me? Or if we had to rehearse and I had to say, 'No, my girlfriend wants to do this'. But we'd never let any girl come between us."
Jedward admit they don't understand the whole girlfriend relationship thing.
"I'm like, 'What are you doing going out for three years?'. If we had a girlfriend we wouldn't be seen as these two 18-year-olds, we'd be seen as Edward and John with girlfriends. We don't want any baggage, okay. We don't want any girl going, 'Go carry my bag'. But we do meet so many cool girls. We're, like, really big fans of our fans."
Then they consider how impractical it would be to have girlfriends right now.
"Imagine how much it would cost," John says.
"There wouldn't be enough space in the car - we'd have to get a people carrier."
Would they have to get Louis' approval?
"We'd ask, 'Is it okay to havea girlfriend and he'd be like [mimics their manager], 'No guys'. But I don't think he'd mind. He's always telling us to enjoy ourselves."
It's obvious that the boys are fond of Louis.
"He's not very strict," Edward says.
"But we don't do any bad stuff so it's really easy to manage us.The other day Louis was eating fish and chips and we were like, 'Louis, that's not good...bad food!'.
"Louis is really famous in the UK and he is a really cool manager.
"Everybody knows who he is and he says, 'I've got John and Edward, will you do a show with them?'.We usually get it."
The twin-credible Grimes brothers don't drink or smoke and are antidrugs.
Edward revealed that he even refused morphine when he suffered a serious knee injury during a UK show recently.
"They wanted to give me morphine and I was like, 'No!'. She [the medic] said, 'It's good stuff. It's good stuff'. I said, 'No, it's not, I don't want anyone messing with me with drugs and stuff'."
Their lives have changed dramatically since this time last year when they were unknown schoolboys on their summer holidays.
"This time last year we never thought we were going to do so much," Edward admits.
"There have been scary moments, if you consider scary having 200 girls outside our hotel in Mayfair for two weeks. It was really getting out of hand.
"Now we miss things you think you'd never miss, like going out and being able to do things without people going, 'Oh my God! It's John and Edward!'"
John says their loss of anonymity is worth the price for doing what they love. "I feel you have to make sacrifices for what you really want and we really want this," he says.
Phones
"We have met so many people and we realise that no one knows how to work their camera on their camera phones. Everyone needs to know how to work their phones...read the instructions."
JEDWARD's new album, Planet Jedward, is out now. See www.planetjedward.net for Irish tour dates.

RACHEL TO TAKE A SWING AT TIGER
Golf star's ex-mistress to reveal all in reality show
THE first of Tiger Woods' 15 named mistresses is set to shock and shame the golf icon again... on a reality TV series.
Rachel Uchitel, 33, is being paid half-a-million dollars to be one of the stars in a new season of Celebrity Rehab, in which cameras follow well-known people as they attempt to beat their drug and alcohol addictions.
The New York party planner will join other celebs, including former supermodel Janice Dickinson and 70s teen heartthrob Leif Garrett, at a recovery centre in Pasadena, California.
There, they will be treated by Dr Drew Pinsky, who claims to have helped scores of Hollywood household names become clean and sober.
Part of the process, however, involves patients being "rigorously honest" about their drug and booze habits as well as previous misdeeds and underlying reasons for their addictions.
Horrified
Previous series of Celebrity Rehab, on the VH1 music channel, have featured numerous emotional confessions and breakdowns among inmates, including former Hollywood vice madam Heidi Fleiss and Rocky movie actress Brigitte Nielsen.
Yesterday, a source close to Woods, who reportedly admitted to having 120 affairs during his own sex addiction therapy, said: "He is absolutely horrified. There is little doubt that Rachel is going to dredge up their affair in front of a huge TV audience.
"Tiger always knew the ghosts of his past would resurface one day but never in a million years dreamed it would be this quickly."
An insider on the show revealed: "Rachel is a massive catch and Dr Drew is tickled pink to have landed her.
"There's always a lot of sympathy and concern for the household names who divulge their deepest, darkest secrets as part of their 12-step programmes.
"But Rachel has declined all media offers to talk about her affair with Tiger and we are guaranteed a massive audience if and when she starts dishing. The entire crew is salivating over what she might say."
Uchitel decided to make her TV debut on Celebrity Rehab after turning down an offer from Donald Trump to appear on the US version of The Apprentice.
A friend said yesterday: "She doesn't want to do anything undignified and feels that Dr Pinsky's show is sensitive and positive.
"She's fully aware that whatever she says about Tiger is going to be seized on by the media but at least her inquisitor will be a medical doctor.
"I think people will be surprised by her. She's not the temptress she's been made out to be and I think viewers will understand that it was Tiger who led her on into believing he would leave his wife for her.
Career
"Instead, he left her devastated. She says she's going to embrace her rehab stint and then maybe consider a career in television."
The divorce of Woods, 34, and his wife of six years, Swedish ex model Elin Nordegren, 30, is expected to be finalised within the next
month.
Sources say they have agreed to share custody of their two young children and Tiger has agreed a "kissoff" settlement of $300 million.
