'Me and Johnny Ronan? ...don't make me laugh!'
BEAUTY ROSANNA HITS OUT AT VICIOUS RUMOURS OF FLING WITH GILSON'S EX
FORMER Miss World Rosanna Davison has laughed off reports linking her to Glenda Gilson's ex, property tycoon Johnny Ronan.
Close friends of the model say she is stunned at the claims and is still very much in love with boyfriend Wesley Quirke.
And the Sunday World can reveal that model pals Rosanna and Glenda will be meeting for a girly chat over coffee this week in a bid to clear the air.
Glenda celebrated her 29th birthday with pals last night at the Angler's Rest in Dublin's Strawberry Beds.
But partygoers talked about her former boyfriend's trip to Morocco with Rosanna and snaps of the pair in the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
"There was absolutely nothing to Rosie's trip," a friend said last night.
"When she came back from Morocco she was oblivious to the rumours that were flying like wildfire around Dublin's social scene.
Close
"She and Glenda, while not as close as people make out, know each other very well from their work together as models," the source added.
"Rosanna would never do anything that had been suggested in the papers, it is not in her nature."
The friend added that Rosanna and Wesley Quirke are still together and that he paid no attention to the reports in the papers.
"Rosanna was asked if Wes was okay about it and she said 'of course'. This was a business meeting that ended in a few drinks and a laugh."
Sources say the pair had initially met at Ronan's bar to talk about a business proposition and that over lunch they had a few glasses
of wine. They were joined by a friends before they all decided on a whim to fly out to Marrakech in Morocco on a private jet where
they booked into the €500-a-night Mamounia Hotel.
O n l o o k e r s described how Rosanna and Ronan were having drinks in the bar while she turned heads in a "sexy lowcut top".
They were described as giggling non stop as Johnny "whispered in Rosie's ear with his arms wrapped around her".
Then they hugged each other before he suddenly declared 'let's go to Morocco'. However, the suggestion that there was more to it than a drunken fun trip was discounted by a close friend to Rosanna.
"It's a joke that they were together, but not one that Rosie found funny," her friend added.
"She was flabbergasted when I told her what was being said. She laughed it off, pointing out that she and her girlfriend shared a room while Ronan stayed down the corridor."
The suggestion of a standoff overshadowed Glenda's 29th birthday bash.
"Rosanna didn't want to create a scene by going along to the party," her friend said.
"She wanted to sit down with Glenda this week and clear the air."
Row
It had been suggested that Glenda (25) was furious with her friend for flying off with her ex - a day after the former couple had a blazing row outside McSorley's pub in Ranelagh.
The spat outside the pub led to the lovers storming off in opposite directions. They have not seen each other since and when Glenda learned he had jetted off to Marrakech with Rosanna the next day she was said to be have felt betrayed by Rosanna.

$I$TER PACT
How the Kardashians took the U.S. and the world by storm with a perfect blend of celeb sexiness and scandal
THEY ARE the sexiest sisters on TV... and now Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian have built a $100 million empire in less than three years.
Their reality series, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, is scoring the highest ratings worldwide cable network E! has ever registered after four short seasons.
Kim (29), also learned last week that her website is registering more hits than that of any other Hollywood celebrity.
And her siblings were told their racy spin-off series, Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami, will air for at least another two seasons, possibly in equally 'hot' new locations.
Add in the fact that all three are the hottest items in New York's Madison Avenue advertising circles - peddling everything on TV from diet pills to fast food and NASCAR racing to orange juice - and, as if by magic, they've all suddenly become multi,multi-millionairesses.
It's as if someone has taken a wand and cast a spell of super-success over the unlikely trio, whose late father Robert almost put the kibosh on the 'Abra Kardashian' story before it started.
Sensational
He was a member of the so-called defence 'dream team' that secured O.J. Simpson's sensational acquittal on two murder charges in 1995 - a verdict America and the world were quick to brand a travesty of justice.
Twelve years on, in 2007, the stigma still attached to that trial forced television executives to think long and hard about hiring Kim - then a nightclubbing heiress known only on the L.A. party scene - as a new reality star.
She had been recommended by her friend Paris Hilton who, at that stage, was among the first of a new genre of sexy female celebrities famous only for being famous.
Some, like Paris herself, were cruelly branded 'heir heads' and 'celebutards' by the American press but, in Kim, television executives were certain they had a winner.
"She doesn't just 'do nothing' apart from living a jet-set life that's captured on camera," one told the Sunday World.
"That really couldn't be further from the truth. There may have been nagging doubts before we met her - a few expressed grave concerns about hiring the daughter of the man who helped get O.J. off.
"But she struck us at once as an extremely bright and erudite young woman who was destined for success. We're just relieved we were the ones who got her to sign on the dotted line."
Similarly, Khloe (25), who married L.A. Lakers basketball star Lamar Odom in September, and Kourtney (30), who gave birth to her first baby, Mason, with partner Scott Disick in December, also now enjoy prime-time fame.
As well as their high-flying TV careers, the sisters co-own the D-A-S-H clothing line, as well as boutique outlets in L.A. and Miami.
Kourtney and their mother Kris also own the children's boutiques Crib Rock Couture in California and New York.
Launched
'Baby' Khloe supplements her TV income - estimated at $25 million-a-year - with a four-hour weekly syndicated pop culture radio show broadcast on more than 300 stations. Kim, meanwhile, has just launched her own range of fragrances that are on sale in every
major American department store and now charges up to $250,000 for guest appearances.
"What's amazing, is that, in a down economy where even celebrity fees are being slashed, Kim and her sisters are bucking the trend and picking up even bigger bucks than before," says media analyst Mike Raia.
"The wealth stacks up pretty quickly when you're banking 250 grand for cutting a tape and posing for a few glamorous snapshots."
Forbes magazine estimates the trio has already amassed a $100 million fortune between them, with global syndication of their TV shows boosting that figure each month. So why are they outstripping the earnings of even A-list actresses in a recession that has seen all of Hollywood tighten their belt?
Especially as, between them, Kim has been caught in an internet sex tape scandal, Kourtney has a child out of wedlock, and Khloe has been panned by the press for rushing into marriage with Odom after knowing him less than six weeks.
The answer, believes Bonnie Fuller, editor-in-chief of respected entertainment website Hollywood Life, is their relationship with mother Kris.
She says: "The sisters have their own homes, love interests and career prospects, but seem to enjoy nothing more than a long family talk at their mother's kitchen table.
"It's a modern type of wholesome. We're living in a very different world now - even Sarah Palin's daughter has a child out of wedlock.
"Despite everything that has gone on with them, they come across as a very tight-knit family, which appeals to women especially."
Appeal
Karina Kogan, chief marketing officer of Buzzmedia, which handles the Kardashians' website as well as those of scores of other celebs, including Britney Spears, also believes in the sisters' celebrity appeal.
"They have embraced social media in a way that is profoundly different from other stars," she explains.
While Britney, for example, relies on a team of people to write the words on her site, Kogan adds: "The Kardashians most often handle it themselves. They also routinely make news on Twitter or their individual blogs, so they never feel as remote as other personalities."
One classic example of that was Kim's online answer to reports that she had breast implants. She posted a photo of herself in a bikini aged 14 to prove her boobs are spectacularly real.
In a recent interview, she told me why she believes she and her sisters will carry on accumulating not only wealth but also a reservoir of public goodwill few other stars enjoy.
"When we goof around, we goof around. But the moment we make a blunder, we're the first to admit it. We feel we owe our fans and we work doubly hard to repay their loyalty," she said.
"We also make ourselves accessible to fans, personally answering their questions online - even negative ones - ourselves.
"That's why I choose to be happy about myself and as open as I can be. Do I have cellulite? Yup. Am I overweight? You can say so, but I'm happy with my curves. Do we all like to party? You bet.
"But what we're trying to represent is openness, honesty and the joy of a close family life. If that brings in a few dollars, who's complaining?"

WAGS TO BITCHES
RANDY CELEBS JUST CAN'T BE HAPPY WITH DREAM GIRLS AS THEY CHASE AFFAIRS TO FUEL THEIR EGOS
What makes stars stray from their beautiful wives and girlfriends? We go inside cheating men's minds
IN AN upmarket London club on a Saturday night, a group of professional footballers are out on the lash with their wives and
girlfriends.
They are surrounded by a flurry of attention, which years ago would have been reserved for only the most high-profile musicians and
film stars.
Parading in front of them, looking them in the eye seductively, is a group of attractive women.
These girls are on the prowl. One breaks away from the group and sits down beside a married footballer and begins to flirt. Before long, one of the footballers strays offside and cheats on his stunning partner.
Welcome to the world of John Terry, Ashley Cole, Tiger Woods, David Beckham,Vernon Kaye and a host of other highly-paid stars who somehow cannot remain faithful to partners that most men can only fantasise about.
And the past few weeks have cast an ugly light on what it is like to live in the world of celebrity 'WAG-ville'.
Model
Chelsea captain Terry was caught cheating on his wife and childhood sweetheart Toni with French underwear model Vanessa Perroncel - his wife's best friend and the partner of fellow England defender Wayne Bridge. He made a dramatic trip to Dubai in a bid to save his marriage.
Similarly, just last week Kaye was forced to apologise on UK national radio for his 'textual' affair with glamour model Rhian Sugden.
He claims not to have slept with the Page 3 blonde but wife Tess Daly is unlikely to be impressed. Even more worryingly, just a few weeks ago Daly had told a magazine how much she trusted her husband and father of her two children.
It seems rich and famous men can be a singularly randy bunch, unable to walk past a glamour model without propositioning her, with even the most honest men unable to keep it in their pants.
David Beckham is another highprofile example of a man who almost threw everything away just for a bit of totty.
He had three kids and a happy marriage with gorgeous Spice Girl Victoria, but got a bit too close to his personal assistant Rebecca Loos after he moved to Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, hype over the Chelsea and England defender Ashley Cole's marriage reached its pinnacle this week when Cheryl Cole learned of yet another of her cheating love rat's indiscretions.
The stunning X-factor judge has been left devastated after her husband was caught sending explicit photos and text messages to Sonia Wild.
Despite telling Hello magazine just a few weeks ago that "anyone who throws in the towel ends up achieving nothing", Cheryl may find herself fighting a losing battle.
Now bookies are betting that Cheryl will call an end to 'Fighting For Their Love' in 2010.
Shamed golfer Tiger Woods would understand exactly what Ashley Cole is going through. He was out bedding a string of other women, rather than cuddling up with his Swedish model wife Elgin.
Dropped
His marriage is on the rocks and he has also managed to put the brakes on his high-flying career. Not only was he dropped by his sponsors Accenture and Gillette - he also ended up in rehab. Good going Tiger.
So, the million dollar question is: What makes these men ruin relationships with incredibly beautiful and successful women - destroying their reputations and careers in the process - just for the thrill of a cheap, illicit encounter?
Is it simply the excitement of the forbidden, or is it just attention-stroking for their largely expanded egos?
According to Allison Keating, a psychologist who runs the Bwell clinic in Dublin, it's more likely to occur among people who are higher up on the social ladder, as a result of their arrogance and the belief that they will get away with it.
Tempted
"With the amount of opportunity they are given, with women throwing themselves at their feet, you can see how they are being tempted," she explains.
"You see it happen a lot more with team sports like football.Whereas men like Tiger Woods are immediately dropped by their advertisers when they are caught, the footballers seem to get away scot free.
"It seems that when they are out they are part of the 'team' and it is more accepted when they behave as if they are teenagers.
Unfortunately, this is often not the case when they are married men."
Other psychologists also believe that it is being desired and feeling desirable that nurtures the celebrities' self-esteem, rather than it being simply a question of sex.
The WAGs are often discarded when not needed. The result is usually an unpleasant, misogynistic focus being placed on the woman.
There is a pressure for them to be perfectly groomed, pretty and skinny; a 'possession' to boost their husband's masculine image that all leads back to the 1950s image of womanhood.
An example of this discarding of their wives and girlfriends was the notorious Manchester United party of 2007, when the WAGs were allegedly told to stay home.
On top of this, a hundred women were hand-picked and brought in to party with the players - the night ended with a rape allegation which was later dropped.
Those who study marriage and work with couples say men who cheat usually do so because they feel something is missing in their primary relationship.
"You would have to wonder about what type of women becomes a WAG," says Allison.
"Perhaps they think they are different - that they will be the one to tame the man - but you also need to wonder about the women having affairs with them.
Shadow
"Often these women chase them just so they can sell a story or get them into trouble. You have to look at how similar these WAGs are to one another and feel sorry for them.
They are living in the shadow of these men. Would I date a professional footballer? No. And most women would say the same."
Whatever the answer, there is no doubt that celebrities are under a lot more surveillance now, so Ashley will probably try keeping the texts to a minimum.
And for the ones that haven't been caught yet? The world is watching.
