Young woman assaulted during aggravated burglary in Dublin

Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a young woman was assaulted during a burglary in Dublin yesterday.

The incident took place in the Ospray/Orwell area of Templeogue, Dublin 6, at 11:20am yesterday, 5th of October.

The thug entered the house, which was occupied by the young woman and assaulted her.

He is described as being male, aged between 40–50 years, of average height with short hair.

He was clean shaven with a thin, pock marked face and pale skin.

This man spoke with an Irish accent. He was wearing black clothing and possibly a sleevless jacket.

He also wore a dark coloured baseball cap and dark sunglasses throughout the incident.

The man received a number of scratches to his face during the incident and a cut to his right index finger.

These wounds should still be fresh.

An incident room has been established at Terenure Garda Station and house to house enquiries are being carried out.
