Woman takes hotel to court in bid to find father of her child
A woman who became pregnant after three nights of passion in a German hotel brought the establishment to court to find out the identity of the likely father.
The German woman gave birth to her son after a stay in the hotel in 2010. All she knows about the father is that his name is 'Michael'.
The court heard she tried to find out the father's identity so she could receive child support.
According to the Telegraph, the hotel has refused to hand over the personal data of one of their guests.
The court rejected the woman's bid and said she had no legal right to receive the personal information. They also said she did not provide enough information to be sure of the man's identity.
The judgment, which was filed under the title 'Father Roulette', was published in October but was only recently made public.
The court's decision read that the father's right to self-determination of his own information took precedence over the woman's right to child support.
