A 34-year-old woman has been jailed for six months after stabbing her other half for eating all her chips.

The Sun reports on the case of Diane Clayton, who appeared in court in Blackburn this week to plead guilty to assault.

Clayton was given a 26-week sentence by the court for injuries she inflicted on Simon Hill with a knife.

According to the report, the couple were at a friend's house where some chips were made for therm to eat.

However, Hill ate all the chips, which enraged Clayton to such an extent that she slapped him across the face before causing a superficial injury to him with a knife.

The next morning Hill suffered further hand injuries after another knife incident involving Clayton.
