A woman in her 40s has been charged in connection with the investigation into the death of a man in Roscrea, Co Tipperary, on Sunday.

A woman in her 40s, who had been detained at Nenagh garda station in connection with the discovery of the body of a male in Roscrea on Sunday, is scheduled to appear before Thurles District Court tomorrow morning at 10.30am.

The woman is charged in connection with the investigation.

Gardai are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in his early 40s following the discovery of his body at a residential premises at The Maltings, Roscrea, Co Tipperary yesterday morning shortly after 2.30am.

Gardai at Roscrea were alerted to an incident at The Maltings and attended the scene.

The man had suffered apparent stab wounds and was pronounced dead at scene. His body remains in situ.

The scene has been preserved and the Offices of the State Pathologist has been notified.
