Last night's winning Lotto ticket bought in family owned service station
Ireland's latest multi-million euro winning Lotto ticket was sold in Co Cavan.
The €6m-winning golden ticket was sold at Argue's Londis Service Station, Cootehill in the north of the country.
Jim Argue, the owner of the forecourt service station, said he discovered the good news at 10.30pm last night and it took a while for it to sink in.
"It took a while to sink in that we sold a ticket worth €6 million," he told Independent.ie.
Since opening up at 6am this morning, Jim said they have received a lot of well wishes locally.
"We're a forecourt service station and we get a lot of passing trade so we don't know if it was sold to someone locally or someone passing but best wishes to whoever won it," he said.
Local councillor Carmel Brady said there is a "great buzz" in the town this morning.
"It's very exciting. Everybody is getting out of their car with a smile on their face and everybody is speculating 'It's not you?', she said.
"It will take some sitting down to think about it but it will be nice not having to worry about writing a cheque and having it bounce.
"Hopefully whoever won it can have the joy of sharing it with their family," she added.
Could it be you? Last night's winning numbers for the €6,409,326 Jackpot were 7, 16, 18, 20, 24, 37 and the bonus number was 13.
