Winds today set to top 100km/h
Gale force winds and showers are forecast for today with temperatures expected to hit highs of 15C.
A Status Yellow alert is in place for the entire country until 3pm today, with Atlantic coastal counties expected to be worst hit.
Tuesday will see more strong winds in the afternoon after a bright morning.
Rainfall will become widespread and heavy, it will be very blustery with westerly winds, and with temperatures of between 12C and 15C, highest over Munster and south Leinster.
Wednesday will be mostly dry and bright with good sunshine with temperatures as high as 16C.
Thursday is expected to be wet with prolonged heavy rain expected.
Met Éireann says while it's not definite it looks as though Friday and Saturday will start off dry, with rain spreading to most counties later in the evening.
