A well-known criminal has been arrested following the shooting incident this evening that targeted a member of the Hutch family.

Sources have revealed that gardaí also recovered two firearms.

It is believed that the man was arrested close to a vehicle that was allegedly used in the earlier attack.

The suspect is a close associate of a number of members of the Kinahan crime cartel.

Earlier today a gunman opened fire at a member of the Hutch family on Dublin’s northside this afternoon.

The gunman fired several shots at a house in Drumalee Park off the North Circular Road at 5.25pm.

The intended target was close to Gareth Hutch who was shot dead in a killing linked to the Kinahan-Hutch feud earlier this year.

It is understood a number of bullets hit a home in the area but no one was struck by the bullets.

Local residents who spoke to the Sunday World called the incident 'absolutely horrific' adding that the family had 'suffered enough'.

A car which may have been used by the gunman was found burnt out in the area shortly afterwards.

A large number of gardai including armed units have been deployed to the area and investigations are ongoing.

The target of today’s incident is also linked to Jonathan Hutch who was the target of a shooting in Majorca which claimed the life of innocent council worker Trevor O’Neill, whose funeral mass took place this week.

The feud has claimed 10 lives since the murder of Gary Hutch in Spain last year.
