Washed-up remains believed to be that of missing Irish woman
Human remains, believed to be part of a woman's body, have been discovered in Kilcolgan, Co Galway.
Gardai were keeping an open mind in terms of any link to missing woman Maria Hennigar, who has been the subject of a huge search in north Co Clare.
It is understood that the remains, which were discovered in Co Galway on Tuesday, had been washed up and were in a badly decomposed state.
Dental records will be used in an effort to establish the identity. Volunteers from Clare Civil Defence have been using drones to search for Ms Hennigar.
The filmmaker was reported missing last week when a neighbour became concerned having not seen her for some time.
