Warning issued as stag on loose in city centre

Police have issued a warning to the public after a stag went on the run in Northern Ireland.

The animal was spotted running loose in the St Patrick's Avenue area of Newry.

Members of the public are advised not to use the steps between St Patrick's Avenue and Water Street.

Police are working with the appropriate authorities on how to safely approach and treat the stag.

The authorities are further warning the public not to approach the animal.
