Today's sunshine should continue through the coming weekend, according to Met Eireann.

With temperatures set to reach up to 22 degrees today, the immediate future is bright for those looking to get in some beach time.

Top temperatures on Friday are predicted to be between 17 and 20 degrees, with the possibility of an extremely light shower here and there around the country.

More of the same can be expected on Saturday as the temperature readings could hit the 20 mark again, with winds meaning coastal areas will be slightly cooler.

The chance of showers will have evaporated by Sunday, with temperatures set to remain in the high teens during patches of sunshine.

Temperatures will drop slightly by Monday to somewhere around 16 degrees, while rainfall is likely Monday night.

This will have dissipated to showers on Tuesday, with further sunshine likely.

Don't tell anybody, but summer might just be coming.
