Vinnie Ryan, who was brutally murdered earlier this week, will be buried in the same grave as his brother Alan, who was also the victim of a violent death.

According to the Star Vinnie Ryan will be laid to rest in the same plot as his older brother, who was shot and killed in September 2012.

The grave, in Fingal cemetery, has become somewhat of a shrine to Alan since the well known republican was killed by a Dublin drugs gang over three years ago.

Vinnie Ryan's body will be released back to the family on Monday ahead of what is expected to be a major security operation around his funeral on Tuesday.

His body will be reposed in the family home in Donaghmede on Monday evening.

The funeral mass will take place at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Donaghmede, on Tuesday morning before the burial in Fingal cemetery.

Ryan is survived by his partner, their young child, his mother, his three brothers and one sister.

The funeral of Ryan's sibling Alan took place at the same church in 2012, amongst a big paramilitary exhibition.

A major security operation is expected to take place in the estate after the paramilitary display at Alan Ryan's funeral when a number of masked men fired a volley of shots over his coffin.

Vinnie Ryan was acquitted of possession of an assault rifle and a handgun at the Special Criminal Court in October 2013.

Tributes to the slain RIRA man, who was gunned down in Finglas on Monday, were inscribed on walls in Dublin city following the murder.

Gardai have appealed to the public for assistance in tracing the murder vehicle which held Ryan's two killers on the day of the shooting.
