A man dressed as a priest stormed the stage at the Rose of Tralee tonight, interrupting the Cavan Rose's interview.

The man, who was holding a banner, shouted 'father for justice' as Daithi O'Sé and Cavan Rose, Lisa Reilly, looked on.

The Fathers4Justice Twitter page later identified the man as Matt O'Connor, the founding member of the group.

They said the stunt was to 'highlight the (thousands) of fathers (who are) denied equal rights."

O'Connor repeatedly shouted "Fathers for Justice" and held a banner with "In the name of the father" written across it.

Both O'Sé and Reilly looked on in bemusement as he was removed from the stage.

The competition continued after a brief break.
