Passenger plane carrying hundreds makes emergency landing at Dublin Airport
A flight bound for Washington has made an emergency landing in Dublin Airport following an engine fault.
The Ethiopian plane, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, had landed earlier today at the Airport for a short refuelling before heading on to the United States.
Over an hour and a half into the flight, it reported one of its engines had shut down.
Flight ET500 landed safely in Dublin Airport at 8:41 am, a DAA spokesperson said.
“The flight suffered a technical fault and had to return to Dublin. We’ve not further details at this time.”
Emergency services were on standby as a precaution.
It is understood that there were upwards of 300 people on-board the plane when it landed in Dublin.
