UPDATE: Body discovered during search for Anne Shortall had been moved and possibly hidden

Reports indicate that the body discovered during a search for missing Wicklow woman Anne Shortall in Ashford, Co Wicklow today had been moved and possibly hidden.

The body has been since removed to the mortuary at St Columcilles Hospital in Loughlinstown where a Post Mortem will be carried out tomorrow morning.

A murder investigation is expected to be launched after the body was discovered at a house by gardai shortly after 1pm today.

Reports indicate that the body was under a tarp in the shed and that the woman did not die at the scene where her body was found.

A 38 year old man was arrested in connection with the investigation and is currently detained at Wicklow Garda Station.

Gardaí who were investigating the disappearance of Wicklow woman Anne Shortall discovered the body.

Ms Shortall was last seen on Friday last at around 3.55pm in Leitrim Place, Wicklow Town.
