Two in custody following Dublin heroin bust

Two men aged 39 and 32 years are in custody following the interception of €1.5 million of heroin by gardai from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Revenue Commissioners’ Customs Service.

Two vehicles were stopped and searched on the Naas Road Southbound, near Rathcool, Co Dublin.

10 kilos of diamorphine (heroin) was seized.

The two men were arrested for drug trafficking and detained at Clondalkin Garda Station, under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

Four premises were searched in Counties Wexford and Dublin.

Both men have been charged in connection with this investigation and are due to appear before court at the Criminal Courts of Justice at 10.30am this morning, Thursday 20th August 2015.
