Two gardai taken to hospital after inner-city attack by mob
Two Gardaí from the Bridewell Garda Station sustained injures last night when they were set upon and assaulted by a group of youths.
The incident happened on Manor Street in Stoneybatter in Dublin's north inner city shortly after midnight.
The Gardai, one male and one female, were on uniform foot patrol in the area at the time of the incident.
They were both taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
A male aged in his teens has been arrested as part of the investigation and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at the Bridewell Garda Station.
