Two 12-year-old boys have been arrested after a man was repeatedly stabbed and beaten with a baseball bat.

The victim was attacked by a gang of around five or six youths in Grosvenor Street, Cheltenham, at 5.30pm on Friday.

Gloucestershire Police said the boys and the 30-year-old man were known to each other.

Following the incident, the man was taken to hospital in a serious condition and treated for stab wounds to his shoulder and armpit. His injuries are no longer considered serious.
