Tributes pour in for young woman killed in car crash

Tributes have poured in for tragic Amy Sheridan (25) who lost her life in a car accident in Co Westmeath on Saturday.

The 25-year-old from Cavan died hours after her car collided with a truck at Hilkinstown, Delvin, Co. Westmeath at 3:30pm.

A 38-year-old women who was a passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene a short time after the collision. She has not been named.

The female driver of the second car, its only occupant, was airlifted to Tallaght Hospital in a serious condition. The male truck driver was uninjured.

Tributes poured in for Amy who was a "beloved camogie player, friend and sister."

Her local camogie club, Lacken Camogie, said it was with "great heartbreak" that they learned of her passing.

Rosie Crowe Mckeever said: "God's angel now. One of the best."

Amy's cousin Shelly Creaven said: "Words cannot describe what I'm feeling right now! The memories I have I will cherish forever.

"Not only cousins but best friends, every summer spent in Cavan & all the stuff we used to get up to    & spending hours on the house phones when we weren't together! Sleep tight Amy Ni'SirideaiN. we now have our very own Angel! I will miss you forever."

Eimear Josephine Smith said: "You will be sadly missed.. the laughs we had when you use to come into me at work.. discussing our Assignments comparing our ideas for our thesis.. heaven has gained another beautiful angel sleep tight dear xxx Sending all my love to all your family and amazing friends."
