Traffic restrictions in place following violent attack in West Dublin

Bus services have been diverted and traffic restrictions are in place after a man was brutally beaten on Kennelsfort Road Lower in Palmerstown at approximately 4am this morning.

Two men (mid 20s) were removed to James Connolly Memorial Hospital and it is believed one man is in a serious condition.

A man (mid 30s) was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Ballyfermot Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Gardai have sealed off the area for forensic examination and traffic restrictions are in place in Palmerstown Village from Old Kennelsfort Road to the N4 Lucan Road due to the incident.

Dublin Bus services are also being diverted from the area. 

Dublin Bus wishes to advise customers that due to a serious incident in Palmerstown Village, the Gardai have closed the outbound corridor through the village. Route 18 will be unable to serve stop 4361 in the village, passengers can board at stop 2202 accross the N4 on Kennelsfort Rd. Dublin Bus apologise for any inconvenience caused.
