Three people rushed to hospital following collision on major Dublin roadway

Three people were rushed to hospital after a two-car collision in the capital late last night.

The crash, between a Volkswagen Passat and a Hyundai hatchback, happened shortly before 11pm on the Stillorgan Road near UCD.

There was two people in each car involved in the collision.

It is understood that both drivers were male - one in his late 50s and the other in his early 40s.

Both passengers in the cars were female, in their late 50s and early 30s respectively.

It is not known which three of the four occupants were taken to hospital, although it is understood they were only admitted as a precaution.

Emergency services attended the scene.

Gardai in Stillorgan are investigating the incident.
