Temperatures to hit 17C this weekend
There is good news for sun-seekers as temperatures are set to reach 17C this weekend.
After washout weather and a bitter cold snap during the start of the year, the mercury is expected to reach the high teens in the coming days.
And in further good news, you can probably leave your umbrella at home as it's going to be mostly dry here until the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
Met Eireann Forecaster John Eagleton said: "There's going to be very little rainfall for the rest of the week, this will continue throughout the weekend and even into next week.
"Basically until Easter Saturday we aren't expecting there to be much rain."
Met Eireann have forecasted that while Monday will be mainly dry, from that night until Wednesday there'll be some rain over the northern half of the country but it will still be mostly dry in the south.
Mr Eagleton told Independent.ie that anyone hoping to embrace the great outdoors this weekend will enjoy sunnier climes.
He explained: "Today we can expect highest temperatures of 11C to 12C in light breezes, it's going to be generally cloudy overnight and the lowest temperatures will be around 2-5C.
"It's going to be very similar tomorrow, with highs of 11-12C.
"On Friday there will be more dry, sunny spells and temperatures of 14C.
"On Saturday temperatures will reach up to 15-17C with light southerly breezes and on Sunday it will be slightly cooler at around 12-14C but that is still quite nice."
Mr Eagleton said he expects temperatures to drop again early next week but Monday's still set to be 10-3C.
He also said that those living in the midlands will enjoy the best of the weather.
