Teen held at knifepoint in her own bedroom

A 19-year-old girl was threatened at knifepoint by an intruder in her own bedroom.

PSNI in Belfast are appealing for any information relating to the attack which occurred on Friday afternoon in the Ireton Road area.

Reports indicate that the man entered the teen's bedroom at 2:45pm armed with a knife and threatened the girl, telling her to stay in her room as he stole her laptop.

The attacker is described as being 5” 7 in height with short brown hair and is said to have been wearing a blue and white checked shirt with dark trousers and was carrying a bright pink rucksack.

“There were two other burglaries in the area that day. A tablet and camera was stolen from premises in the India Street area, while a games console and games were taken from a house in the Ireton Street area,” Detective Constable Anita Cummings said.

“I would ask anyone with any information about any of these incidents to contact detectives in Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.

“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
