Two young men critically injured in horror head-on collision in Dublin

A 19-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital today following a horror collision which occurred yesterday.

The shocking head-on collision occurred yesterday afternoon in Tallaght in Dublin. 

At approximately 12.45pm two vehicles collided at speed on the Kiltipper Road, Gardai said.

The resulting scene was one of carnage, images following the crash show. 

Emergency services were called to the scene and attended to four people injured in the collision. 

There were three male occupants, aged between 19 and 25 years, in one of the vehicles, a Gardai spokesperson said. 

The driver and rear seat passenger of this vehicle suffered serious injuries. They were taken to Tallaght Hospital where their conditions are described as critical. 

It is believed the 19-year-old is one of those in critical condition. The young man, who is from Dublin, was said to be "fighting for his life".

The third occupant and the driver, sole occupant, of the second vehicle received minor injuries and were also taken to Tallaght Hospital.

Several roads in the area were closed off as an ambulance and the fire service attended the scene. 

Gardai said the scene was preserved for a technical and forensic examination but has since reopened. 

A witness at the scene said it was the "worst thing" he had ever seen.
