A teacher who went into early labour ended up giving birth to her baby in the bathroom of a north Dublin school yesterday.

Reports in today’s Irish Daily Mail claim that the infant was delivered by a heroic special needs teacher (SNA) who jumped to the teacher’s aid.

The woman was teaching primary school children when she went into labour unexpectedly and was rushed to the bathroom yesterday evening.

The Mail reports that the SNA raised the alarm and helped to deliver the baby while being given advice over the phone by Dublin Fire Brigade

Reports indicate that the mother and child are ‘doing okay’ following their ordeal.

Neither the new mum or the SNA wanted to be identified.
