Suspect arrested in connection with two sexual assaults in Dublin
Gardaí have arrested a suspect in relation to two separate sexual assaults on two teenagers.
A man was arrested by Swords gardaí on Tuesday and is expected to appear in court next month after he was released from garda custody earlier in the week.
He was questioned at Swords garda station in connection with two "groping" incidents.
The suspect was arrested after a probe into two alleged sexual assault incidents which happened less than a week apart.
At around 5.15pm on July 25, a man approached a 15-year-old girl and grabbed her around the waist and touched her bottom.
The incident occurred in Portrane, north Co Dublin, and the girl was able to give gardaí an excellent description of her attacker.
Meanwhile, just four days later, at 9.15am on July 29, a young woman reported that a man unknown to her approached her and grabbed her.
The second victim was a 19-year-old local woman, who said that a man approached her and then allegedly groped her breasts and bottom on the R132 road in Swords while she was on her way to work that morning.
The man was described as being 5ft 5in - 5ft 7in, with dark blond hair, cut short, and was believed to be in his early 20s with a clean-shaven face.
This matched the description given by the first victim.
After investigations, the suspect was arrested this week.
