Staff member injured during knife robbery in Dublin
Gardai arrested a man in his 30s yesterday after an armed robbery in west Dublin.
Officers in Clondalkin are investigating the attempted robbery at a shop on Castle Crescent, Clondalkin yesterday afternoon.
At approximately 3pm a male wearing a balaclava armed with a knife entered the shop, threatened staff and demanded money.
An altercation ensued in the shop with one of the staff members and the staff member received an injury to his hand.
Gardai arrived on the scene and arrested the 32-year-old man.
He was arrested, taken to Clondalkin Garda Sation and detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.
He was charged and will appear before Blanchardstown District Court at 10.30am this morning.
The injured staff member, a 57-year-old man, was treated by a local doctor.
