Snow and ice warning issued

Met Eireann have issued a Status Yellow snow and ice warning.

Up to three centimetres of snow is expected to fall in parts of Cork, Kerry and Waterford tonight.

The warning was issued at 6pm this evening and remains valid from that time until 3am on Saturday morning.

AA Roadwatch is also reporting some spot flooding in parts of Waterford and Cork.

Met Eireann predicts a frosty start in some places tomorrow morning, with the frost clearing quickly and the last of the rain or sleet near southwestern coasts will clear and the day will be mostly bright, with some sunny spells.

Top temperatures are predicted to be between 5 and 8 degrees Celsius.
