Scenic picnic site turned into gay sex and dogging haunt

A scenic picnic site sits littered with used condoms after becoming a hot-spot for open air gay sex.

The dogging hotspot is a lay-by on the main N20 Cork to Mallow road close to Rathduff, which was listed on a popular Irish sex website as a top outdoor sex location in 2014.

A man, who was only identified as Dave, told the Neil Prenterville Show on Cork’s Red FM, of his disgust having brought his wife to the spot on Tuesday.

“What’s going on there in the picnic area/ lay-by just before Rathduff is shocking.”

“Myself and my wife stopped at a picnic site on the Mallow Road for what I thought would be a nice walk. We walked along the path and int the undergrowth only to walk upon a couple of guys who were meeting up whilst another was fleeing.

“The ground was covered in used condoms and condom wrappers and other stuff you use when you’re meeting someone in an undergrowth.

“We arrived back in the car pack and I see a few more guys in the bushes and a car pulls up and starts flashing its lights.

“One guy comes out and is fixing his shirt and his belt.”

David went on to tell listeners that the flashing of the lights means you’re interested in joining in or watching.

“We stumbled upon a dogging site rather than a picnic site,” he added.

A woman known only as Lynda told the show:

“We were coming home from a barbecue with the kids in the back of the car at around 10:50pm.

“We looked over and there were loads of cars in the car park and I was like, ‘yeah that’s a dogging spot’.

A poster on a well know sex website wrote "we go to this lay-bye most morning" (sic), while another warned people to "beware of police presence" at the spot.
