Gardai have arrested three men and seized suspected stolen property worth €70,000 at Rosslare Europort.

A joint operation between Gardai and Revenue's Customs officers on Thursday night saw a white Mercedes lorry stopped as it was about to board a ferry departing Rosslare for Cherbourg.

An initial search of the lorry, conducted at 9.30pm yesterday, revealed what Gardai believed to be stolen property.

During a further search of the lorry property including bicycles, power tools and garden machinery and beer kegs were discovered.

The overall value of the stolen property is approximately €70,000.

The occupants of the vehicle, three men in their 20s and 30s were arrested at the scene.

The trio are all Romanian nationals with addresses in Ireland.

They are being detained at Wexford Garda station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
