Revenue have seized a large amount of cash from a man at Dublin Port, authorities have said.

As a result of routine screening of traffic, Revenue officers seized over £25,000 (€33,000) cash at the capital's port yesterday.
 
Officials were assisted by cash detection dog Meg. 
 
The cash was detained under the Proceeds of Crime legislation from 37-year-old Northern Irish male arriving from Holyhead. 
 
This morning Revenue was granted a three-month detention order by Judge Halpin in the Criminal Courts of Justice in order to carry out further investigations.
