The family of a missing woman is desperately appealing to the public for help in locating her, and have once again asked anyone with any information about her to come forward.

Breda Delaney (72) went missing from her home at Avondale Court, Blackrock, Co Dublin, at around 3.30am on Saturday morning.

Her daughter, Emer, spoke on RTE Radio this morning and said: “She has been very anxious and distressed of late.”

When she went missing they presumed she was upstairs asleep in bed – and immediately informed gardai at Blackrock Station and a missing person alert was issued.

“She’s a small woman with blonde hair so light it’s almost white,” continued Emer. “We desperately need to hear from somebody who might have seen her.”

A sweep of the Dublin coastline was undertaken yesterday by the Coast Guard, Dun Laoghaire RNLI, the Civil Defence and gardai. The search continues today.

Breda is described as being 5” 4’ in height, of slight build with blonde/grey hair and blue eyes.30

When last seen Breda was wearing a white cardigan, a grey calf-length skirt and black shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Blackrock Garda Station on 01-666 5200, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
