Gallery: And the winners are ... who won the battle of the red carpet at the IFTAs
It's the highlight of the Irish showbiz calendar as the cream of Ireland's acting and showbiz talent descended on the capital for the IFTAs.
Fifty Shades of Grey hunk Jamie Dornan was the toast of the IFTAs, scooping two gongs as Love/Hate missed out on a string of awards.
The former underwear model was named best TV actor as well as Rising Star for his role as a serial killer in the gripping drama The Fall.
He beat stars such as Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, who plays Nidge in Love/Hate, to the award.
The Fall was also named Best TV Drama, beating Love/Hate, Game of Thrones, Quirke and Vikings.
After being nominated for a raft of awards and sweeping the boards last year, Love/Hate had to be happy with Best Supporting TV Actor for viewers’ favourite Peter Coonan.
In the big movie categories heavyweight Brendan Gleeson was named Best Actor for his role in Calvary, which also won Best Film.
Saoirse Ronan for Byzantium and and Eva Birthistle for telly drama Amber won the big female awards for best actress.
Amy Huberman lost out to Sinead Cusack as best supporting film actress while Game of Thrones star Michelle Fairley won the TV |category.
But it was a night for the hunks.
As well as Jamie Dornan’s double win, Michael Fassbender was honoured as best supporting actor for his Oscar nominated role in 12 Years a Slave.
