Radio legend Tony Fenton passes away aged 53
Irish radio legend Tony Fenton has passed away today at the age of 53.
The Today FM and former 2FM DJ had been battling cancer for some time.
One of the most respected radio broadcasters in the business, Tony’s distinctive voice and bubbly personality made him compulsive listening for fans spanning several decades.
“There will forever be a void on Irish radio that will never be filled,” Ronan Keating, who was a close friend of the DJ tweeted.
“He was a pilot of the airwaves,” former colleague Dave Fanning said.
“Very, very sad news. Gone too soon,” said Brian Kennedy.
“What tragic, heartbreaking news,” Niall Breslin commented.
Keith Duffy said: Very sad to hear about the passing of the legend and true music lover Tony Fenton. A sad day. And that voice! Rest easy Tony much love.”
