Procter and Gamble sell Nenagh plant
Hundreds of workers at Procter and Gamble’s Nenagh plant were called into a meeting with management this afternoon to tell them about the sale to US firm Coty.
The sale is part of a massive $12.5billion purchase of “P&G's Beauty Business” by US cosmetics firm Coty and it is yet unclear if the move will lead to an expansion of operations in Tipperary or if the merger will lead to job losses.
Coty will take over the running of the factory next year.
In 2007 P&G laid off 280 staff at the Nenagh plant prior to moving its skincare production to a factory in Poland.
