PIC: Paddy Power reminds TDs to settle their bar tabs

Paddy Power took to the streets of Dublin today, following the dissolution of the 31st Dáil, to remind outgoing TDs to settle their debts before vacating Government Buildings.

The bookie’s advert, which is plastered across an 18-wheeler, spent the entire day circling Kildare Street and Merrion Square in Dublin City centre.

An investigation by the Sunday World revealed how TDs and senators have taken advantage of subsidised booze in the Dáil bar.

Figures released to the Sunday World reveal that politicians owe a total of €28,642 to the Dáil bar as of November 17th, 2015.

With the election now confirmed for February 26th, Paddy Power make a coalition between Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil the most likely to form the next Government at 13/8, while it’s 5/2 for Fine Gael and Labour’s alliance to survive another election.

A spokesperson for Paddy Power said: “You’d think that any member of the 31st Dáil would understand a thing or two about servicing a debt, but unfortunately a few of them have been skimping on their tabs and we’re only too happy to give them a timely reminder before they hit the campaign trail.”
