UFC champ Conor McGregor has posted the first picture of his son online this morning.
The picture shows the baby, called Conor Junior, in the arms of happy mum Dee Devlin.
Dee and Junior are doing great everyone! Thank you for all the kind words, I am one proud and blessed Daddy ❤️ pic.twitter.com/3JqMpLvs9d— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) May 7, 2017
The message with the image reads: 'Dee and Junior are doing great everyone! Thank you for all the kind words, I am one proud and blessed Daddy'.
The new born is already a star online as the ConormcGregorjr Instagram account, an account verified by the social media platform – “run by my parents Conor McGregor and Dee Devlin” – went live as the pair welcomed little Conor ‘Jack’ McGregor into the world.
The account already has 35,000 followers.
The 8lb 14 ounce bundle of joy was born in the Coombe Hospital at around 8pm on Friday night.
Proud granddad Tony McGregor said: “Baby Conor Jack McGregor was delivered last night at 8pm. The parents are absolutely over the moon and everyone is healthy.”
The UFC champion has been documenting the imminent arrival of his first child as he shared a smiling snap of the couple in the hospital.
McGregor told his 12.5m Instagram followers last week that the happy couple were anticipating their baby’s arrival and said he wanted to protect his family.
“I don’t want to be bringing my child into this. I don’t want my family to be like that [a celebrity],” he said.
“I’m not trying to bring a kid into that. If someone comes near me when I have my kid in my hands, like the way they come near me now, looking for pictures, someone’s gonna be badly hurt.”
