Pensioner seriously injured after being struck by car in Dublin

Gardaí in Rathfarnham are appealing for witnesses to the incident which left a 75-year-old man seriously injured.

At approximately 11.30am on the morning of December 29 a 75-year-old male pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a car on Butterfield Avenue.

The collision occurred at the entrance to Rathfarnham Shopping Centre.

He was taken by to Tallaght Hospital where he is continuing to receive treatment, though his condition is understood to be stable.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this collision.

They are particularly appealing to a number of people who provided assistance to both the injured pedestrian and the driver of the car at the scene to contact them.
