Pedestrian dies after collision with truck on Dublin motorway

A man in his 20s died this evening after a fatal collision on the M1.

Gardai in Balbriggan are investigating a fatal collision that occurred between a truck and a pedestrian this evening.

A 27-year-old pedestrian was fatally injured on the M1, just past junction 5 Balbriggan, at approximately 7pm this evening.

The man's body has been removed to James Connolly Memorial Hospital Mortuary.

The male driver of the truck was uninjured.

The scene of the collision is currently closed off to facilitate garda forensic collision investigators. Local diversions are in place.
