One Direction halted their show in Dubai on Saturday night after fans toppled a safety barrier and fainted in the crush.

The newly remodelled four piece - performing without Zayn Malik after his shock departure last month - walked off the stage as the saw their fans struggling and refused to return until they were assured that order has been restored.

Remaining band members Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson eventually returned to finish off their show, much to the relief of fans who had travelled from all over the world to see them perform in the desert heat.

There was around a half an hour wait as concert organisers got the barriers back in place and comforted fans who had been shaken up by the incident, but there were no serious injuries.

The band assured fans that they had not fallen out with former band member Zayn as they ran through their list of hits, with a fireworks display lighting up the Dubai sky to conclude an elongated show.
