OAP found dead in Ballyfermot may have passed away months ago
A 68-year-old woman who was found dead in her home a fortnight ago may have passed away three months earlier.
Ellen Kilmurray’s body was discovered by gardai after they received a phone call from her concerned niece.
Ms Kilmurray, who lived on Lally Road in Ballyfermot, Dublin, may have been deceased for up to three months before being found, including over the Christmas period, according to reports in The Sun.
“She lived by herself. A niece contacted gardai on January 21, concerned that she hadn’t seen her in a number of months, and noticed a top window open,” said a senior garda source.
“Gardai went to the house and gained access through the front window. It appears she may have fallen in the bedroom.
“No suspicious activity is suspected. We won’t know what the cause of death is until the inquest and coroner report. “
