Nurse terrorised in brutal early morning carjacking

A nurse was brutally attacked and dragged from her car by a thug, just feet from the entrance to Temple Street Children’s University Hospital in Dublin, yesterday.

The woman, who is in her mid-30s, was moving her car from the staff car park to on street parking when the incident occurred.

Her attacker is believed to have been bleeding heavily from a previous altercation and reportedly attempted to assault the woman and another member of staff who came to her rescue.

The thief then made his escape, driving off at speed in the Hill Street direction.

A spokesperson for Temple Street Children's Hospital said they regretted to confirm the night nurse was attacked and had her car stolen as she moved the vehicle to make way for other workers starting on the day shift.

Gardaí later confirmed that the car was found a short time later, crashed and abandoned on Store Street. No arrests have yet been made.

The nurse escaped without suffering any injuries but was left shaken by the incident.
