Two men arrested in Donegal in connection with Donaldson murder probe

Gardaí investigating the murder of Denis Donaldson at Cloghercor, Doochary, Co Donegal in April 2006 have arrested two men in connection with the investigation.

Both men - one in his 40s, the other in his 70s - were arrested in the Donegal area today and are currently being detained at Letterkenny Garda Station under  the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act 1939.

Gardaí are appealing to any persons who may have information in relation to this investigation to contact them at the Incident Room at Letterkenny Garda Station at 074 9167100,  the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666111 or any Garda Station. Gardaí would also like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have assisted and co-operated with the investigation to date.

Donaldson had lived in Donegal since 2005, when it emerged the former Sinn Fein official had been an agent for MI5.
