Two more arrests in loyalist Geordie Gilmore murder investigation

Two people have been arrested by detectives investigating the murder of George Gilmore in Carrickfergus on March 13.

A man aged 37 and a woman aged 32 were arrested in the Carrickfergus area this morning. 

They have been taken to Musgrave Street Serious Crime Suite where they are assisting detectives with their enquiries. 

Former UDA commander Gilmore, 44, was shot in his vehicle in the Woodburn Estate in the coastal town as he returned from supporting friends at a court appearance.  

He died in hospital the next day as a result of his injuries.
