Prison officers at Northern Ireland high security prison delay shift in protest
Around 80 Maghaberry prison officers held a meeting this morning instead of starting work.
The staff were due to start their shifts at 7.30am, but instead decided to hold a meeting, which lasted until 9.00am, the BBC reported.
Shortly after 9.00am they returned to work.
Prison officers are not allowed to go on strike, and if any strike action is taken, they could face legal or disciplinary action.
The move came as a dispute over pay and conditions continues.
Staff at Magilligan prison in Derry also held a meeting which was authorised by the Prison Service.
